Rent History - need help reviewing for overcharge complaint

Posted by Missy on November 06, 2001 at 19:00:40:

I live in NYC, Buildng rent stabalized, built around 1930. Around 32 units. I obtained the rent history on the apt from 1986 to today. Looks a bit fishy steadily on the increases from the beginning. However big increase almost four years ago due to so called renovations. I'd like to file an overcharge complaint this year but I need an expert to review the rent history. Where can I go to get free or cheap advice to find out whether this is worth it to me or not? I only plan on living in the apt for two years or so. But, still, it's the principle of the thing.
