No, you're not required to let them out of a lease. They're obligated to pay rent for the lease term they signed. You're probably required to mitigate damages - attempt to rerent the apartment - and they're off the hook once you do.

Or you might just let them go with a handshake and a farewell.


: i recently had a tenent wanting to to break their lease as they got a job approximatly 50 miles away am i reqiured to let them out of their lease we live in west lafayette indiana
