Take it from a former Williamsburg resident, this is typical of the kind of people who have moved to the area in recent years: Spoiled rich kid punks who think the world revolves around their every whim. They, in collaboration with Real Estate Agents and landlords, have jacked up rents to drive out the artists and long term residents who used to populate the area. Billburg an artists' haven or "hip"?? Word to the newcomers. It's all hype. People are paying 1200 for shares there. Who's clandestinely performing the lobotomies these days????

in retrospect, you might consdider yourself lucky. you wouldnt' have wanted to live with such a basket case, so maybe it was for the best that she started freaking out from the get-go. too bad she couldn't have done it two days earlier. i'd like to know what the cops said (i assume they made you leave). because nothing was in writing, not even your rent, there's little legal footing. did you get the cash back at least? if not, i'd say it sounds like melissa and her pals are running a roomie scam, with a constant stream of people moving in and being intimidated out. even if that's not the case, the result is the same. i bet the same things happen to the next people who move in.

: thanks for the cautionary tale. always get it in writing!
