Start packing tonight.......and use the rent money for the security and rent on the new place, since your security is probably GONE due to the bankruptcy.

You dont have the time to waste, who know next week the utilities might be cut off due to non payment, or a sherriff might order everyone out

Let them sue you in court, if they want money, you have no proof and have not been notified of the new owner in writing, and the new owner has not acknowleged your security deposit....

So no sense getting involved in this mess....Make a committment Tomorrow, tell all your family and friends You are NOT buying them any Christmas presents, you need all the money to move.

Good luck!

: Hi! I had a year Lease from August 17, 2000 until August 18, 2001. At the end of this My landlord and I made verbal agreement for me to stay 5 or 6 more months. I then paid rent in September ont he 17th (due date). When it came time to pay rent on October 17th my Landlord informed me not to pay rent because he had filed Bancruptcy. Now this month November 12th another tenant tells me he owns the building> I saw paper saying the original owner signed building to other guy, but i dont know if these papers are legal or if this is believable. What is my next move cause i know not what i should do?
