I live in a complex located in upstate NY with my husband and 2 children. We have the opportunity to rent a house with the possibility of owning it one. Our current lease expires February 28, 2002 and we are looking to move into our new place on January 1, 2001. We gave notice about 3 weeks ago. When I followed up regarding when we would receive our security deposit, I am told there is no guarantee that we would get it back because she was not sure if she would have our place rented in January. Did I give enough notice? Is she right?
