broker's fee

Posted by Judith on December 17, 2001 at 09:44:33:

I currently live in South Williamsburg in a 3 story apartment building (there are 3 apartments all together). My roomate and I have a written lease. The apartment building has undergone all sorts of vioations from the Environmental Board and the heat and hot water in the apartment are unpredictable and inefficient (i.e the hot water dissapears in shower after 5 minites). The landlords have not addressed these issues sufficiently and we are planning to leave.
We paid a broker's fee of $2000 and I wanted to know if the broker can be held responsible for selling us this apartment. In other words, can we get our money back? Please let me know. Thanks.
