Fred is correct on several points. Treatment for addiction is medical treatment - just like alcohol addition. HDFC's are not an ongoing subsidy program although the initial purchase price is very low. There are tax abatements for a period of time, but you also see tax abatements for luxury housing. And Fred is also correct about your tone. People come here for help, for education, for clarification. Sometimes the correct answer means telling the tenant they have a big problem or that they are bending (or breaking) the rules in the wrong way. But if they were doing so intentionally, chances are they wouldn't be asking the question on this board. People who answer should not be jumping to conclusions and berating the tenant. We had many complaints about Richard for the same thing; that's why he's gone. Try to suggest ways for the tenant to solve the problem without leaving them with the impression they are a piece of garbage. Got it?

: Where did you read the sister is getting "medical treatment" ??! She is a recovering drug adict. No mention of medical treatments, and in any case, we have drug treatment and medical treatment here in New York.

: HDFC = Housing Development Fund Corporation. Its great that some tenants buy their apartments for $250.00, but its a obviously a subsidy, and there are rules. Its not a program for those in Atlanta.
