I live in a first floor apt. The LL lives in the basement. The electric and gas were not included and LL told me to set up service right away. I did so. After a few months the electric bill soared out of control. I couldn't believe it, I'm not at home during the day. I told the LL and he said well, if you use the central air, then it's going to be high. I haven't used the central air at all. I did a little investigating and found that LL has no electric meter. Further, we share a mailbox, and I have yet to see a bill from Con Ed. On top of all that, when I asked Con Ed, they told me that LL was the one who had the service in his name. Bottom line: I'M PAYING FOR MY LL'S ELECTRIC!!! Do I have any recourse?
