: hi- what is the ABSOLUTE full story on rc apartment and replacing a dead fridge??? can't you just sneak in a new one?? what tis the full deal? thanks!

if YOU want to pay for it and have it installed, there is no need to 'sneak' it in. you will however, want to give the old one to the landlord (or at least, offer it to him in writing), and get some sort of documentation that you DID return the one that was originally supplied, and also keep your receipt so that you won't get any potential 'heat' for 'stealing theirs'.
the issue about the landlord-supplied one is valid, because the landlord is supposed to supply a working fridge. if it stops working, it is up to the landlord to supply another. if he supplies a used, working one, no charge to anybody (except the ll), but, if he installs a NEW one, you MAY have to pay the cost through rent via 'improvement' increases.
