Your landlord is correct - it's not harassment. The LL has a "landlord-tenant relationship" -- a legal/contractual relationship with you, not your company (assuming the lease has your name on it). If he were to accept rent from another party, that other party could claim it had lease rights -- and the rights accrued from the rent stab status. Bite the bullet on this one. The LL's correct.
: Can the company I own pay the rent on my behalf? I have a rent stabilized apt. in Manhattan and attempted to pay my rent with my company's check. My landlord returned it to me stating that the lease is in my name and rent must be paid by me, not my employer. But the company is part mine. Is he harrassing me or is that his right. Nowhere in my lease does it say I must pay with a personal check.
