: NYC: I received a termination notice; I've read up a little on this site.

: Today's question: when the landlord actually sues, i.e. sends and files the Petition, who choses the courtroom, date, and time? Him or the clerks at Housing Court, the computer at Housing Court?

the landlord brings the Petition to Housing Court clerks, they write in the date, time, courtroom.

dunno if they get this data from the computer; the landlord might be able to request a date; if any of this is not automatically from the computer, then there is room for $$$$$$ to choose a judge they know they can manipulate.....
