Regulated is regulated. It shouldn't matter too much who the LL is.

The catch here is if the LL is a religious organization, and wants to convert the property for religious use. Beyond the city and state rent regulations, there may be issues in federal and constitutional law.

: I have lived in a rent stabilized apartment in Manhattan for 27 years. Last year my building was bought by a religious not for profit group. My landlond, a rabbi, will be evicting the tenants as their leases come due.

: Through some social networking, I found out he tried to do this to another building in midtown and there are records on him and his congregation. Where in manhattan would I go to obtain copies of this?? I assume they are public record. I want to gather as much info as I can before contacting an attorney.
