boy sherry, your ll really does have it in for you.
there are some regulations that say that if you are in the military, AND have been called to service, the eviction proceeding can not continue until the military personel affected can be in court to actually fight it. sort of, if you are away at war, it's tough to fight a court action. you should try to locate these regulations online somewhere. not sure just where you would find them.
if it's a roomate situation, and you don't have one now, getting one to forestall an eviction is going to obviously backfire on you.
