The tenant charging you $100 more than half the rent is not going to get him evicted. Charging you MORE than the entire rent would get him evicted. File an overcharge complaint with DHCR. They want these cases-they're the ones who drafted this regulation. DHCR is P---ed off that the majority of these cases are bypassing DHCR and going thru housing court. DHCR wants the glory. DHCR is just about now figuring out that they've been had.
