Rent overcharge?

Posted by Jerry Lopez on July 30, 1996 at 03:12:48:

I recently found out that I have been overcharged for rent by $75.00
The landlord had posted a "For Rent" sign for a one bedroom apartment
in front of our building, I have a one bedroom w/the same amenities, and
same sinze as the one that's currently for rent.

I called my landlord and aksed him to match the rent for my unit to the
amount on the rental sign or I would move into another unit in the building
that's $75 less.

I also found out that there's only one other person that's being overcharged
which means that 2 other tenants who have lived there for about one year now
are paying $75 less than I am for the same size unit, that translates to an
annual savings of $900.00

The landlord did not reduce my rent and did not allow me to move into another
unit that's $75 less.mo.

What are my rights - HELP
