philadelphia landlord tenant court

Posted by An Unhappy Renter on May 29, 1996 at 19:34:40:

Recently one of our weekly newspapers printed stats. that showed how
slanted our court system is. A lot of times the judges choose not to
even hear a tenant complaint. Instead they automatically side with the
"old boys network" ( a host of lawyers who represent landords in bulk
and are constantly in court). Furthermore most tenants arent represented
by counsel so the system is slanted. I wish I remembered the stats. ver
batem but I believe something like 90% of cases were won by
landlordas. I recently had a bad experience with my landlord (phila.
mngmt.) and just wanted to warn others. If anyone in philly reads
this please post your observations.
