Ontario:breaking the lease

Posted by Dave Mahon on November 24, 1996 at 10:55:32:

I have read the other posting about breaking a lease but I am concernec that they do not all apply to me because I live in Ontario
My problem is I am a student and no longer wish to rent the unit that I am in...
I have purchased my own home(duplex) therefore need out quick..
I have tried to sublet with posters and ads in the paper but no
one has replied yet...I can no longer afford to pay the rent here...
Plus my landlord has allowed workmen into my apartment without my
prior notification and while I am not even here...the reparis were minor and did not need to be done immediately
This breaks the lease clause that states that he has to give me
48 hours notice....does this also help break the lease so that I can get out of it?
