NYC Month-to-Month: 3 Days Notice of Rent Increase !

Posted by Paul (Not rent controlled/stabilized) on January 03, 1997 at 21:39:10:

I am a month-to-month renter in New York City. I have no written lease. My landlord has stated his intention to raise my rent by $50 per month effective 1997. Problem is, I get this letter on December 30! Does NYC law require some minimum period of notice prior to a rent increase, even for non-rent controlled/stabilized apartments?
