Believe it or not, according to an insider, many politicians use a formula.
A postcard is given less weight than a form letter, which in turn is given less
weight than a personal letter. Something like 200 postcards (which are often
distributed to an organization's members en masse) might be equal to one
handwritten letter. Best is a personal phone call where you refuse to
speak to the receptionist and demand to bend the ear of the politician
or his chief of staff. Don't be afraid to go after those SOB's
