Silver Changes Position On Rent Control

The Assembly Speaker is showing signs of softening on his position on the rent regulation.

News reports claim Speaker Sheldon Silver may agree to allow the rents of some high income tenants to be decontrolled.

New York City Mayor Rudolph Guiliani is planning on being in Albany next week to counterattack Pataki's plan to weaken the state's rent regulations.

That as the deadline for extending rent regulations draws closer.

Giuliani says if the controls are discontinued, there will be chaos in the city.

The mayor is planning a trip to Albany next week to lobby key players.
