: Does anyone know where I can find information about my buildings renting
: history? The dept. of buildings seemed to only have info. about renovations
: and construction. Is there any way to find out who used to live in the
: apartments, whether they used to be controlled or stabalized, that
: sort of thing? The apartment is not rent controlled or stabalized so
: the DHCR is no help and I don't know where else to go.

If you go down about three inches on the screen, you'll see that you
asked the same question three days ago and we answered it. Go to DHCR
as that's the only purpose we can think of why one would want to research
the renting history -- to see if it's the legal rent. If it's not RC or RS
now, it might have been at one time and they have the records. If it
never was, then there's no issue of the legal rent as the owner can
charge what they want. If you don't have a current lease, take a Con Ed
bill or other document to show you're the legal tenant. In general, if the
building was built before 1974, if it's 6 or more units and it's not
a coop, then there's a good chance it should be subject to the RS laws.
