You can pull all the revolutionary crap you want in the city, and its not going to change a thing. Politicians only care about one thing, getting reelected.

You could have 2 million people screaming in front of City Hall every day, and the Republican State Senators from the suburbs won't give a damn, because they know none of those protestors would be in a position to run against them.

The whole rent regulation fight is a symptom of the transfer of political power from the city to the Suburbs. Long term, this could be combatted with tactics like voter registration drives, et al. But that won't help by June 15th. If you want to win, you need to acknowledge reality and adjust you tactics to compensate for it.

Banging your head on the wall is only going to give you a headache, and it isn't going to move the wall
