Whether you like it or not there must be a compromise because the governor
wants an "orderly transition" to market. How about this? 1) No protection for anyone making over $100,000 per year. 2) No protection for anyone paying more than $1,750 per month. 3) No more "ineritance" of apartments. 4) If a landlord wants to tear down a building he can, provided that the tenants are guaranteed a smiliar apartment at the same rent (nice way to end the housing shortage). 5) 100% decontrol with harsh penalites and landlords who harass their tenants. This will protect over 90% of the tenants! What's wrong with this?
