: With this months rent notice, the landlord placed a rather legal
looking document which he wanted me to sign. "It is the intention of the
parties hereto that the Lessee(me) indemnify Lessor and Overlandlord as
of July 1, 1997. I told the landlord that I did not intend to sign such
a document as he needed to get an insurance company to indemnify him.(he
claims that this is only to protect the coop board from people wearing
inline skates etc. I don't roller skate. Is this a form of Harassment?)
He got real angry when I wouldn't sign and said that he would check with
Rent Stabilization. What's happening? Does he really think I'm nuts?

DO NOT SIGN. He's asking you to hold him harmless. There is no law requiring
you to sign this -- especially not rent stabilization. This does not
rise to harassment, but keep details if he harasses for your not
signing.
