Check with your local community board. I remember there was a bill in
city council a few years ago that required owners to repair and/or
remove shedding after a period of time. Call Councilman Tom Duane's
office at 212-929-5501 (I think that's the number) -- I think he
was the sponsor to the legilsation. Your Community Board can also
write to your landord asking him to solve the problem. You can also
get violations from HPD or Dept of Buildings on things like this. You
can also go to Housing Court on a HP action or withhold rent (but
be careful on going into court -- get good advice).


: There doesn't seem to be any way, legally, I can find to get them to
remove the scaffolding, however I am considering trying to get a reduction
of rent for decrease in services (safety & security).

From DHCR? Good luck. Prepared to wait 10 years and then have them refer
you to Buildings?
