Security Deposit

Posted by Nigel Bates on August 14, 1997 at 14:11:13:

Help!

In San Mateo County, California: my landlord refused to return my security deposit and I have won a judgment against him thru' Small Claims Court. Now, he is suing me for "damages" to the property in Small Claims Court. Is he allowed to do this? The lease expired Jan 31 and I sued in March and won; he appealed to Superior Court where I won this month. He sent me a letter in May accusing me of damages and is now suing me in September in Small Claims. What should I do??

Thanks for any assistance.
