does landlord have to abide by 30 day notice

Posted by Lauren on October 05, 1997 at 13:36:18:

We are in the process of building a house with the help of Habitat for Humanity. Our landlord told us that if we were not going to be here for the entire winter that we would have to move out by 0ct 1. This was in June. Habitat could not commit to that and I told my landlord that we would be staying. The house will be completed by Oct 31 and we are going to give our 30 days notice Nov 1. Does the landlord have to let us have 30 days to move out? We have no lease.
