constitutional amendment

Posted by Mark Ralin on October 23, 1997 at 21:23:22:

This is in response to Bernice Siegal from Queens League of United
Tenants on voting no for a constitutional amendment.
Ms. Siegal states that the convention will be comprised of insiders ,
allowing those who control Albany to control the convention.
This is absurd. According to the voters guide that all of you recieved in the mail,
the VOTERS of every Senate District shall elect three delegatesto the convention.
"THE VOTERS" I think the time has come for the people to decide what laws we will live
under not the old party hacks whom have made and passed laws that are
unconstitutional to the state constitution. Just as California for one,
where referendums and proposals are voted on by the people of the state.
I am sick and tired of all the poor taxes, surchargesand taxes on surcharges
lousy Judges and my reps. that don't represent the will of the people.
Vote Yes for a convention and you will have a say in gov"t.
