Verbally, I and my two roommates expressed to our landlord that we wanted to renew our lease for another year. We were told this was no problem.

Now, 13 days before November 30, I received a fax from the landlord (who lives in Singapore) that he's not renewing the lease for ME, but is with my other two roommates. The reason he states is that I owe him a small amount of back rent (true ... I told him I would pay it by 11/14, but requested an additional week, which prompted this). Can he do this? What are my rights? We've been in the unit for 15 months. It is a coop in a building of 11 units, which I do not belive qualifies it as RS or RC.
