disposession notice

Posted by Steve on December 10, 1997 at 14:31:53:

How many days late does the rent have to be before a landlord can file
a disposession notice?

I signed a lease mid-month on the 15th of april,
and after a few months the landlord started constantly harrassing me,
stating that the rest of the building pays on the first of the month and
stated that she wanted half a month payed on the 15th and then the full
amount on the 1rst in order to "catch up to the rest of the building".
Since we run a home office and the landlord lives directly across the street
we complied in order to stop the constant phone calls, but this one time
arrangement has caused us to have a hard time paying on the 1rst. (being that we
are used to paying on the 15th), now it is 2 months after we agreed to
her demands and we find ourselves 9 days late on the rent, and the landlord has
called every day since the 2nd of the month threatening a disposession notice.

Does this situation constitute as harrassment, and can they legally file the
disposession already?

any advice would be appreciated.
