Dear Mariel:
Thanks for your input. Unfortunately, his lease specifically
forbids subletting. And even though I have no experience with subletting,
I'm sure it's not hassle-free for the person whose signature is on the
lease. My son will be hundreds of miles away, and I have no legal
involvement as far as the landlord is concerned.
