Monthly Rent Increase Prevention

Hi!

I am paying on a month by month bases. An the LL wants to ask me for an increase. I am also a disable person and I understand tha he should not ask me for any more increases than what I can possibly afford.
Is there any way I could write a letter or something forcing him to at lease ask me in writing, so that I could have something to prove that I is really asking me for something that I cannot afford. I mean, it's his word against myne.
It Might be a good Idea to have something to show that what I am saying is tru, and wrong.
