I lease a rent stab. apt in greenwich village and am living
with a woman and her 10 year-old son. Since she is not on the lease,
the local school refuses to register boy unless I have a notarized letter
from the landlord stating that she lives in the apartment. My landlord
(actually the mgmt co, ajclarke) flat-out refuses to give me a letter
saying he has no proof ( he's being a real hardass about it and i dont
know why). Anyone been through this problem before?

I need to prove to the school or the landlord that they are
living here. In the past i have also been flatly refused for adding
someone (a roommate) to the lease, and i'm also curious whether i have the
right to add my girlfriend now to solve this problem.
