Subject: Re: Are window-screens supposed to be provided by landlords?

: Hi, my sister rented an apt. in NYC and there are no screens on the windows... Since summer is approaching and mosquitoes and bugs will be fierce this year, we would like the landlord to install window screens. (She would do it but the apt. is on the 4th floor and it presents a problem for her.) Is there any physical condition clause (as there is in RI) requiring a landlord to provide screens? Thanks in advance for any info! The landlord is not required to install screens unless they were already in the apartment when you moved in and have been damaged from normal wear and tear.
