: Landlord/Owner ignores tenant request to be billed, does not collect rent

: for 1 year of lease Don't think there's any requirement to bill, only to give receipt

: Tenant continues to live in apartment for additional 2 years without a lease and without

: paying rent, landlord does nothing.

: 4 years later landlord wants to collect for 3 years of rent, even though tenant has a lease for

: only one year. Landlord can't go to housing court as he waived stale rent (laches), but he may be able to go into full civil court. Lease doesn't matter as you became month-to-month after initial lease expiration. But I would claim waiver of the whole amount.

: How much should tenant owe to landlord??
