I had sued because he was overcharging us on a rent stabilized apartment. It is not illegal for the landlord to turn me down since it as at their discretion that they rent apartments. So the lesson is, if you stand up for your rights, you get screwed.

On a happier note, I finally got approved by a landlord that I explained the situation to- at least there are some honest people out there!
