Reasonable to you the tenant, no. Reasonable to the owner, yes. Just like the new Volkswagen Beetle and Beenie Babies are going for high prices that seem higher than what some think they should be, so are unregulated apartments. Welcome to the free-market. If you cannot afford the increase you will have to leave, unless you can convince the owner to lower the increase, which the odds are against.
