We moved out of an apt in Massachusetts in late May and still have not received
: our security deposit back. The apt. was left in impecable condition. We
: contacted the landlord (who lives out-of-state) about 6 weeks after moving out
: and he said he'd be mailing the check shortly. Nothing came in the mail, so we
: left another message for him (which was not returned) and mailed a certified
: letter (signed by him in late July) and still have not received our money.

: We just sent a second certified letter stating that we will seek legal action
: if we don't get our money back. I would like to know what's the best way to
: proceed now. We've rented in many states and this is the first time this has
: happened to us. I'm not familiar with Massachusetts tenant-landlord laws (can
: anyone point me to a website with infomation on that topic?) Also, should he
: pay us interest as well? We lived there for 11 1-2 months.
