I have a rent stabilized apt in Manhattan whose original two year lease is up at the end of next month. I did not receive any notice from my landlord during the 120-150 day window period. I think he forgot. I want to stay in the apt for another two years. What happens in this case? Should I increase my rent payment by 4%(the allowable increase for a two year lease) as if my lease was renewed? Should I keep my mouth shut and play dumb? Bottom line: I do not want to lose this apartment. Any thoughts?
