I live in NJ. I rent an apartment that is in a 2 apartment house. The owner sold the house. The new landload informed me verbally that he deposited my security. However, I have not been sent any mail that my security has been deposited into a bank escrow account. I dont even know if he actually did deposit it. For all I know he spent the money.

1. How should I go about correcting this?

2. I read somewhere that if the security is not deposited into an escrow account and Im not informed in 60 days that this has been done by mail. I can request the landload use the monies as rent. Plus, the landload cannot ask for another deposit. Is this true?
