Misery loves company...same thing happened to me. I had a $200 increase. LL was absolutely unwilling to negotiate, and even tried to kick me out so she could sell my 500 SQF Upper West Side, no doorman apartment to a bidder at $325,000. Granted it has a yard, but $325K? unbelievable. they outright lied to me when I signed the lease that there would be no major increase. My solution: suck it up one more year (since moving/broker's fee) would be even mosre costly, and then find a STABLIZED place once the market corrects and we have some rights again. NO ONE SHOULD EVER RENT IN A COOP BUILDING. Tell everyone you know this.

: My landlord just sent me my new lease with a $175.00 a month increase attached.
: She specified on the lease that this is NON-negotiable.
: I have checked with the agency that lists and regulates rent stabablized and
: rent controlled apartments and have discovered that our building does not
: qualify for either.
: As an unregulated apartment, what options do I have in negotiating with
: my LL? Do I have to accept this increase or move out?
: Please Help!
