All landlords don't want problem tenants. In my opinion don't give out your former landlord's name as a reference. Also don't give out too much information. If they ask then tell. Keep in mind that landlords like to screen their future tenants for stability, but tenants are not informed of problem landlords. Double standard.
You must untimatly decide where you are going to live. Currently you live with you father, leave it at that. If you go through Real Estates be sure to state you live with your family. tell them you have a full time job, bring two pay stubs and shop around. Try to get a rent stablized
: I graduated from college May 1997, after living in an apartment on a lease co-signed by me, my roommate and our parents. My landlady was basically a witch who was rather delinquent in tending to our basic needs. For example: toilet constantly overflowing - not our fault, terrible heat and $300 electric heat bills- absolutely no insulation, didn't return interest on deposit AND unreasonably deducted from security. I was the roommate who dealt with her on these issues. Except for the interest on the deposit and security deduction problem, I never sent her a letter.
