We live in an unregulated 1 BR apt in Brooklyn NY -- have been there 1.5 years. Landlord informed us this week she will increase rent from $850 to $950. Can she do that? Can she do that every time the lease is due for renewal? Please help. $1,200 in one year is a lot for us!
