Hey! This is interesting. Even while I type this in we've got some guy, sound asleep on the landing between the main and first floor of my building! One of the tenants asked him what he's doing here and he said he's "watching" the building for the super!
I got word that the same guy was sleeping on the second floor last night.
Meanwhile, the lock on the front door of my building doesn't work and the super and the landlord just ignore all calls to them asking them to fix it.
BTW: According to DHCR, landlords are responsible for certain safety of their tenants. If you get mugged (FORBID!), the landlord can be held accountable in court.
DOCUMENT EVERYTHING! Take pictures when you can and get statements from tenants who won't go to court with you.
