I live in a 3 bedroom apartment in Brooklyn and 3 of us are on the lease. One roommate has been gone for 2 months, and in the interim a 4th person rented his room. We had a verbal agreement with the original 3rd roommate that he would not return, but nothing in writing. Now he wants to return, and since he is on the lease, it seems we can't stop him. Is there a way to have him removed from the lease on the basis of the 2 months he has not paid the rent? Thank you for your help.
