Overnight guest clause in California contract.... Legal?

Posted by Scott on April 06, 1999 at 20:41:39:

I'm a student in central California and am about to rent an apartment with several friends. In the rental contract from the place we're planning on staying, there's a clause stating that "No overnight guests are allowed". Is this legal? Unfortunately, there's nothing mentioned in the resources on for California pertaining to this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
