Your security deposit can be used to cover any unpaid rent on your lease.
If your landlord is a descent person they would understand and work with you on the other hand if they are complete jerks like ours was they will try to sue you for the rent through the end of the lease. I would call your landlord and talk to him/her it can't hurt.
