: Several cases currently pending concerning the matter of legitimate "first rent". Accoring to definitions and requirements, a landlord must chage the dimensions of the exisitng apartment (ie: extend apartment into common hall area, add a room, etc.)
: Does this then include dropping a floor (thereby incresing floor to ceiling space) or raising a ceiling (again, increasing floor to ceiling space)? By changing the dimensions, are there any specifics known to any reader, or any specific laws stating what exactly is meant by "dimensions"?
: Interpretation can lelad some to believe that the outer dimensions would be limited to the walls... moving them in, out or adding new walls.
: Any input would be greatly appreciated and may even lead many to a great savings on their current rent.
: Thanks in advance for all thoughts, suggestions and leads!
Where are these "first rent" situations defined? which laws?
