Rent Reference

Posted by Brenda on May 09, 1999 at 22:08:39:

I own my own mobile home and rent a lot in a mobile home park. Is it legal for a landlord to give you a bad reference if your rent was paid on time for over 2 years and yard was kept mowed? The reason for eviction was that I had to call the police twice to remove an abusive boyfriend. I never disturbed my neighbors. The ones on each side of me didn't even know anything was going on. The boyfriend is no longer in my life and has been served with a restraining order. Now I'm afraid I won't be able to rent a lot in another park because the current LL will give me a bad reference.
