We decided to buy a house because we needed more room for our newborn. Gave the landlord 60 days notice but we are leaving 3 months early on the lease. have lived here 5 years. Landlord is requiring we pay entire term and also attempt to rerent the unit at our own cost. Cannot afford mortgage, rent, and daycare. I am looking for a way around what he wants. He never painted the unit while we were there, I think the law states he has to paint every three years. Also, the apt was built prior to 1978 and we never received a lead paint notice from the LL. Does anyone have any advice??
